Burkina Faso applies the revised SYSCOHADA accounting framework (effective January 1, 2018). All entities must maintain accounts compliant with the 8-class OHADA chart of accounts, producing a Balance Sheet, Income Statement and TAFIRE.
The Certified Electronic Invoicing System (SECeF), managed by the DGI, requires businesses to use certified invoicing devices that transmit transaction data in real time to the tax administration. Each invoice must include a verification QR code and a unique tax identification number (IFU).
