CassKai vs GesCom: from local commercial management to multi-standard cloud

GesCom refers to the commercial-management and accounting software widely used in Cote d'Ivoire, with genuine functional maturity on invoicing, stock and purchasing. We built CassKai as a cloud-native alternative: 4-standard native accounting, integrated Mobile Money, FNE e-invoicing, AI and cash steering, for Ivorian SMEs that want to modernise their tool and grow beyond a single country.

Overview

GesCom is the generic name for the commercial-management software (and often associated accounting) widely used in Cote d'Ivoire. Depending on the case, this is the historic Sage Saari Gescom (the Sage 100 / Saari range, heavily installed in the OHADA zone, with a strong training ecosystem in Abidjan) or solutions published by local Ivorian players. The common thread: genuine functional maturity on invoicing, stock management, purchasing, payments and commercial tracking, and deep on-the-ground knowledge of Ivorian taxation (VAT, DGI). For many Abidjan SMEs, it is a proven and well-mastered tool.

Typical limitations of the 'local commercial management' category for 2026:

CassKai offers a multi-standard cloud SaaS alternative (PCG, SYSCOHADA, IFRS, SCF) covering 33 African countries, with native Mobile Money (Orange Money, Wave, MTN MoMo, Moov, Free Money), native UEMOA e-invoicing including FNE Cote d'Ivoire, a GPT-4o AI assistant and cash steering. We do not claim to replace overnight a heavily tooled Ivorian industrial SME running Sage Saari with advanced modules; our target is SMEs (5-50 employees) that want to move to the cloud, handle Mobile Money natively, anticipate FNE and, where relevant, consolidate multi-country operations. All with transparent EUR SaaS pricing and a 30-day trial with no credit card.

CassKai is published by Noutche Conseil, a chartered accounting and financial advisory firm focused on Francophone West Africa.

Strengths

CassKai

  • Cloud-native from day one: no local install, no server to maintain, automatic updates, access from any device (office, mobile, field).
  • 4 accounting standards built in (PCG, SYSCOHADA, IFRS, SCF): unique on the market, ideal for an Ivorian SME opening a subsidiary in France, Senegal or elsewhere and wanting to consolidate without switching tools.
  • Native Mobile Money (Orange Money, Wave, MTN MoMo, Moov, Free Money) with automatic reconciliation: no more hand-entered mobile money collections, they are matched directly against the accounts.
  • Native FNE Cote d'Ivoire e-invoicing and a GPT-4o AI assistant: you anticipate normalised invoicing and benefit from a copilot for categorisation, anomaly detection and cash forecasting (DSO, working capital).
  • Transparent EUR SaaS pricing (29 / 79 / 199), all included (multi-country, multi-standard, Mobile Money, AI), with no per-seat licence or surprise add-ons, and a 30-day free trial with no credit card.

GesCom

  • Functional maturity on commercial management: invoicing, stock, purchasing, payments and commercial statistics are proven modules, particularly in the Sage Saari range, heavily installed in Cote d'Ivoire.
  • Strong local ecosystem in Abidjan: Sage Saari Gescom training available, integrators and resellers present, many accountants and managers already trained on the tool.
  • Ivorian tax knowledge: command of local obligations (VAT, DGI, filings) and commercial practices, with support often provided by a local integrator.
  • Offline operation: software installed locally keeps working even without a stable internet connection, which can be an advantage in some field contexts. (To qualify depending on the version.)
  • Battle-tested robustness: Sage Saari and mature GesCom solutions have been installed for years in many Ivorian businesses, a guarantee of stability for usual commercial processes.

Target Audience

GesCom (Sage Saari Gescom or an equivalent local solution) remains a solid choice if you are a single-country Ivorian SME heavily tooled on commercial management, with mature processes on invoicing, stock and purchasing, already-trained teams and a trusted integrator in Abidjan. If the installed tool does the job well and you have no multi-country constraint, there is no urgency to change.

Migration Guide

Migrating from GesCom (Sage Saari or a local solution) to CassKai typically happens in 4 steps over 6 to 10 weeks for an SME of 5 to 50 employees:

  1. Step 1 - GesCom export (week 1): from your GesCom software, export the trial balance, general ledger, SYSCOHADA chart of accounts, customer / supplier files, items / stock, invoicing history and journal entries in CSV or Excel format. Sage Saari supports these exports via its reporting / export functions.
  2. Step 2 - Mapping via the CassKai wizard (weeks 2-4): CassKai's import wizard accepts CSV / Excel files and proposes automatic mapping to the target SYSCOHADA chart of accounts (or PCG / IFRS if you consolidate with an entity outside the OHADA zone). Third parties, items and balances are taken over; you validate account mappings case by case.
  3. Step 3 - 1-month parallel run (weeks 5-8): for 1 month, you post your commercial and accounting operations into both tools in parallel. At month-end, you compare the trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet and stock status. If figures match (within rounding tolerances), you are ready for cutover.
  4. Step 4 - Cutover (weeks 9-10): on the chosen cut-off date (ideally the start of a fiscal year to simplify DGI obligations and FNE), you stop using GesCom and go 100% on CassKai. You keep GesCom archives for the OHADA legal retention period (10 years for accounting records).

If you need help with mapping or migration, our support team can assist you free of charge during the 30-day trial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can CassKai import my Sage Saari Gescom data?

Yes. CassKai's import wizard accepts CSV / Excel exports from Sage Saari Gescom and local GesCom solutions (trial balance, general ledger, chart of accounts, customers / suppliers, items / stock, invoicing history, journal entries). Mapping to the target SYSCOHADA chart of accounts (or PCG / IFRS if you consolidate) is proposed automatically and can be validated case by case. For Sage proprietary formats, we provide a guide to convert them to CSV via Sage's export functions before import. Exact coverage depends on your version.

Do I lose advanced commercial-management features by moving to CassKai?

CassKai covers the essential commercial management of SMEs: quotes, invoices, credit notes, items, stock, purchasing, suppliers, payments, all linked to accounting. If your GesCom / Sage Saari version uses very advanced modules (production management, complex bills of materials, industrial multi-warehouse, very granular commercial statistics), we recommend a prior audit to check functional parity against your real needs. For most commercial and service SMEs of 5 to 50 employees, CassKai amply covers the scope, while adding cloud, Mobile Money, FNE e-invoicing and AI.

Does CassKai handle FNE normalised invoicing in Cote d'Ivoire?

Yes, UEMOA e-invoicing is native in CassKai, including the Electronic Normalised Invoice (FNE) in Cote d'Ivoire. The logic of clearance (pre-validation by the administration), fiscal seal and QR code is built in. This is an advantage over historic GesCom / Sage Saari versions, whose native FNE coverage depends on the vendor and the installed update. Anticipating FNE with a platform that builds it in natively saves you late developments or add-ons.

How long does migration from GesCom take?

For an Ivorian SME of 5 to 50 employees with a single SYSCOHADA chart of accounts and a single entity: count on 6 to 10 weeks in "safe" mode (GesCom export + CassKai mapping + 1-month parallel run + cutover), notably because you need to take over accounting, third parties and items / stock. For a rapid cutover without parallel run, 3 to 5 weeks is enough. For a multi-entity or multi-country group with consolidation, count on 10 to 16 weeks. Our support team assists free of charge during the first 30 days of trial.

GesCom works offline: does CassKai need internet all the time?

This is an honest point to consider: as CassKai is cloud-native, an internet connection is needed to work in real time, whereas a locally installed GesCom can work offline. In the Ivorian context, data coverage has greatly improved (4G widely available in Abidjan and major cities), and the cloud brings in return access from anywhere, automatic backups, no server to maintain and automatic updates. For field contexts with unstable connectivity, we recommend assessing this criterion based on your real usage. (Exact offline behaviour of your GesCom to confirm.)

Is GesCom cheaper than CassKai over time?

It depends on your version and configuration, so we will not make any figure-based claim about GesCom. In principle: installed software implies an initial licence, annual maintenance, sometimes per-seat licences, paid updates and server upkeep. CassKai charges 29 / 79 / 199 EUR per month all-inclusive (multi-country, multi-standard, Mobile Money, FNE e-invoicing, AI), with no infrastructure cost. We recommend comparing total cost of ownership over 24 to 36 months, factoring in maintenance, seats, server and IT time, not just the initial licence.
